Mass Air Flow

Good Morning,

My Mass Air Flow sensor is toast and I was wondering if anyone might have a functioning one for sale? Or I have heard there is a Lexus part that I can use but not sure what to order?

Thanks

Yes, there's a Lexus AFM that you can use, but you really should be using that only with larger fuel injectors (550cc)

bhg4life has a GM MAF with a translator that will do the job, and can be scaled to use larger injectors later, if you want.

The MAF-T unit for sale at various online places will also do the job, and scale. The MAF-T uses a MAP sensor, so that also means that you don't have to worry as much about routing for things like the BOV recirculation, since you can vent the BOV to atmosphere with no problems. (This is what I want to do.)

Although, if you get the Lexus one, you can easily swap the electronics into your factory housing without fuss.

That's true, the electronic package is identical. Still, it's likely cheaper to get a used 7M-GTE AFM than a used Lexus AFM, and I'd bet that the MAF-T pro is cheaper than a new Lexus AFM, or at least not THAT much more expensive.

But when was the last time you heard of someone actually buying one new?

I'd recommend either get a Lexus AFM and swap the electronics to the 7M housing until you have your ducks lined up to get do the Lexus AFM/550 injectors upgrade, or look to buy a stock 7M GTE AFM from one of the many guys who have upgraded and made the stock unit unnecessary.

Also, no biggie, but you are looking for an AFM Air Flow Meter, not MAF Mass Air Flow sensor.
