Just a note: My replacement Supra is painted. about 2 weeks left to complete.

Stay tuned... lol. This shell is pretty well actually rust free. The bolts were even clean... not one broke during tear down. Will post a complete update when its home. : )

Here's the last of what I was allowed to see for my new shell. Wont get to see it until it's ready to drive home...

Got the car, it has an initial appraisal done, but not the final appraisal.

Amazing workmanship on it. Gotta get the front 3M'd before I take it out... and seeing as snow is coming, probably won't be able to do anything with it until next spring.

Sigh...

(photo is... 1987 Burgandy Shell... and 1987 merged with my 88 Grey... to make my new 87)

Amazing looking... I just stand and stare now.. lol

Glad you are back and it looks great. How much were you able to save from the old car?

1988 Items transferred to 1987 Shell....

AC (which was newly installed on 88, but needed some small repairs from pipes twisting.. needs recharge)
Subframes (new bushings)
HSD Coilovers
Brakes
7MGTE and full exhaust/turbo
Intercooler (after some new piping)
R154 (Stage 3 built)
3.73 LSD Diff
all steering components except for the rack and pinion
Fuel tank and MKIV Denso fuel pump
All electronics (everything)
All interior (everything because was burgandy)
Hatch and both doors
Sideskirts and rear bumper (with addons)
new OEM front driver side fender (purchased for 88, but not installed, is now on 87)
Driving lights (removed and now installed on 87)
Wheels (of course)
Sunshade
Headlight covers were destroyed, using my original stock ones
HKS electronics (Vpro 3.3, EVC-S boost controller)
EGT and boost gauge (on pillar)
Innovate Wideband (also on pillar)
88 Gauge cluster (with Moman faces, glow lights and CF facing)
3 piece Kaminari tails (bought for 88, not installed, now on 87)
89+ burgandy bumper (bought for 88, now on 87)
S2 air guide and lip (bought for 88 from Shine, now on 87, molded in air guide)
Stereo (transfered over)
Fiberglass mouldings and Kouki tail lights (for 89+, used from 8
windshield valance (below windshield, fibreglass and painted)
Mirrors (I am not sure if they are from 88 or if they used the spare set I had)
Targa top (new seals)
A and B pillars external parts (were OEM new from Toyota)

I think that covers everything.

The car was basically stripped to nothing and then everything was gone over (subframes removed, engine bay cleaned up and painted)

Basically, what I have left to do is leather seat covers, stereo (with subs and amp), divided housing for my turbo and QSV install (which means new tune), wheel alignment and final go-over for mechanical in spring. Then the car is 100% complete.

Getting 3M protection on sideskirts/mirrors/hood/bumper before I take it out on the road.

The only change I will likely make later is wheels.

What was really used from the 87 was the body (which was totally rust free... no repairs needed for rust, all the bolts were clean and looked new). Thats about it... lol
