Whoa. A post from the future.

good to hear the status on things. Too bad about the paint issues, I remember seeing the pictures when it came back from paint, and it was beautiful. (I imagine that it still is, and that you'd have to look pretty close to see most of those issues.)

Lol, fixed that

The front end is the baddie. It looks like someone machine gunned it with pebbles. I imagine it's because fiberglass is just a poor choice for a front bumper. I may end up having to repaint the hood, one mirror and the new bumper when I get one.

Well... this thread has a nasty end.

While turning left in Calgary at Macleod Trail and 99 Ave SE, a young lady in a 2012 Ford Explorer decided Red was the new Black and ended my journey with this car.

Unfortunate. At least I lived to start a new one... we will see what I end up doing now.

Such a shame. Glad to hear you are ok. Lots of good parts to transfer to a new project.
Looking forward to seeing your new direction

Such a shame. I'm sorry about the supra Grant. Were you hurt at all?

Sadly this is a reminder of how I lost my first supra and I know it hurt in more ways than one.

Did you have the car appraised? Hopefully you will be able to buy it back and salvage as much as you can to start a new one.

My chest was banged pretty good by the seatbelt (still hurts today when I move) and my back muscles are yelling a bit. Physio for the next 2-3 months and I should be good as new.

I'm just a bit perturbed about the "left hand turn" rules in ALberta. It's 100% my fault even though she ran a red because absolutely nobody (and this was 12:15 pm on Macleod trail and 99th ave SE in Calgary... so there were many that witnessed it) stayed to say what occurred.

As the law stands, unless you can prove GROSS negligence (texting?) even if they run the red light... the left hand turn person is at fault. Never mind that everyone was stationary and she came through the red without even touching the brakes.

The best I could hope for would be a witness stayed behind and even then, it would be (at best) 50-50 fault.

I will never take a left hand turn where I cannot see the traffic in a lane again. I just couldn't see around the trucks to know she intended on barreling through. She walks scot-free.

It sucks.

As for the future, I have to figure out what I am going to do. Tomorrow is my meeting with the claims adjustor and my car. I did up a "bill" book for him, but it's super depressing when I see how much money I actually dumped into the car over 10 years. It's not a small sum. Part of me wants to just throw my hands up in the air and get a 3000.00 car and call it quits.
