SpalShield smoked tail light covers

I got these this afternoon from a group buy on SM. They're an adhesive vinyl product that you stick over your lights. If you're good at it, it looks pretty decent.

The before picture:

The "My fucking heat gun destroyed itself in a spectacular fireball halfway through" picture:

The after picture: (I finished it off with my propane torch after my heat gun died)

Showing how the brake lights show through:

And, another angle of the final product:

I'm decently happy with the result. It was a major PITA to install, and there are a few tiny air bubbles, but I can live with them. The key hole didn't line up QUITE right, but I managed to stretch and bend things enough to get it decent. The key is to heat the stuff up so it becomes super stretchy and flexible.

I'm on the fence regarding the look. I'll give them a few days to cure before I make any judgements. It accentuates every single peak and dip in the tail lights themselves, but I have a feeling it'll smooth out given some time.

Goes really nice with the black. Another reason to look forward to Sunday.

I think it looks great, hopefully they cure up nicely.

Steve

On a side note: Aren't the JDM tails darker than the USDM ones stock for stock.

They are. They're also a consistant color across te back too. You'll notice the center section isn't brighter than the lights unlike the USDM ones.

I would like some O.O where did you get these again?
and how much?
I was looking for something like this heh
also is it possible to get even darker ones? as the USDM ones are brighter = harder to make darker

They used to be $75, but I think they raised the price.

Im guessing you have to call them and order it that way?? Because there is not place on that site to order a kit online..

Also, does anyone else want to order a kit?
