6.5 inch speaker pods for pre-91 MKIII

Just letting you know that there is a GB on Supramania for the speaker pods so that you can mount up 6.5 inch front speakers in your pre-91 MKIII.
The stock 4s don't do much and 6.5s are a huge improvement. Also there are a lot more choices in the bigger size.

This buy is looking for a few last guys to go ahead, so I thought that I'd post this up.

Somewhat reluctantly, I PM'd the guy to get in on the action.

I figure if we don't all support these one-off part group buys, especially for cheap and useful parts like this, they simply won't happen.

Bigger speakers are nice too.

I've got a mockup set of these made up for myself, since I've been planning to do this for a while. I got a set of the 6.5" mounts from a JZA70, so I wouldn't need these anyway. I want to make ones which are fully sealed, instead of open baffle like stock.

Still, that's a really good deal for the part, and would still be a huge improvement over stock.

Their current location is something if an unknown, since I had to move a lot of stuff from a large office into a very small office, but when I'm done, I'll give 'em back to you if you want 'em.

Don't see your name up there.

Sooo.... KevinM has finally got these again. Price is a little higher than last time at $100 shipped to Canada.
I just paid for mine and it will be shipping out when he gets back from holidays on Dec28th.

Just wondering if any other locals want to get a set and split the shipping.
I sent Kevin a PM asking how much each additional set would cost and will let ya'll know.

Edit: Only around $5 cheaper. So probably not worth the hassle.

I've got my own 6.5" speaker pod project in the works. It's been there for a very long time, but when I'm done I'll have a set with a sealed enclosure space.

Got the pods last week.

Now I have to learn me some audio stuff.

Dan, I'll let you borrow these if it will help with your sealed enclosures. I won't be using them for a while anyway.

Might be helpful.

Want to talk audio stuff? I did a lot of SQ stuff in my Supra before I got a real motor.
