4th Annual Southern Alberta Supra Fun Run

Hi, it's time to start planning the 4th annual fun run.

This year we will be doing the Kananakis Hwy40 route but from south to north, unlike the first run. The ride will take 4-5 hours to complete, there will be several scenic stops for group photos and possibly a Bbq. I'm still working out the location for where to meet and will update this post as detail are decided.

The date will be Sunday August 20th, 2017.

Meeting location: TBD

Meeting time will be at 8:30am and leaving between 9-9:30am

Should be another fun one, let me know if you'd like to attend. Last year we had over 20 cars join for the Red Deer run from all parts of the province. I will also post on FB Alberta supra group and Kijiji to catch those that aren't on SC.ca

Well, Sunday, August 20, I'll be in front of a grading panel swinging a sword around, so I won't be able to make it for that weekend. I am hoping to drive the Supra to and from the grading though!

The 20th works for us. Tara will have her ST205, I will bring the Supra if I can tackle the oil consumption issues, or the MR2 if I cannot.

Hello,
My name is Shaun and I have met many of you at these runs over the last couple of years. I normally ride shotgun with my friend Allyson in her mint A70 but sadly she passed away in February.
This year I will accompany her mom, Joy in the same A70.
Where and when do we meet? What is the route?

Kind Regards,

Shaun

Hey Shaun, looking forward to seeing you there!

From the Facebook event:

Hi, this will be the official thread for this years fun run so please post on this one and keep the conversations relevant.

Sunday August 20, 2017

We will be leaving from SW Calgary, passing through Longview, up Hwy40 and back to Calgary probably along the 1A. It's likely to take around 5 hours with stops along the way. It's also ok if you can't tag along the whole time.

We will be providing a Bbq with refreshments again this year at one of our stops. In order to gauge the right amount of food to buy, please be sure you can attend before posting.

This is not a race event, the rules of the road still apply and everyone is responsible for their own actions. The people who tend to attend this event have a lot of respect for each other and appreciate all cars in attendance. It's by no means a competition or show.

If you have a supra or supra powered car in any condition (as long as it's road worthy) you are welcome to join.

Meeting time: 8:30am

Leave time: 9:30 am

Location: YMCA parking lot in Shawnessy (SW Calgary)

Keep an eye on this page as the date approaches for any updates or changes.

Please make sure your gas tanks are full and mechanical issues addressed prior to meeting.

Hope to se some new faces and cars this year.

Thanks

Will

Hi Shaun, that is very unfortunate about Allyson, it wont be the same without her this year. However I am glad that you and her mom will be attending with her Supra. it'll be a good long run this year through Kananaskis with a pretty good turnout if everyone can make it.

Are you on facebook? if you are, I can add you to the Alberta Supra Group to keep you up to date.

Thanks for posting the info Grant.
